My claim: Count Cain/Godchild, manga, general series.  This should be fun... or embarrassing... whichever!

so I'm an unapologetic zelinker

Yep, it's the very last part of the LoZ/Nutcracker crossover.  I have to say I'm fairly pleased with how it turns out; either this part or part three is my favorite, in fact. ^_^ And at least this multi-chapter story worked out better than the first one! *cough* :D And, oh yeah, Merry Christmas!!

Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four

Title: The Nutcracker
Fandoms: Legend of Zelda/Nutcracker
Word Count: 1,123.
Rating: G (for this chapter; PG overall)
Summary: For Winternight, a young girl named Zelda receives a most unusual nutcracker, and adventure soon follows...
Disclaimer: The Legend of Zelda and all associated characters, settings, etc., belong to Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo. The Nutcracker is from the book by E. T. A. Hoffman and the ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others.
Author's Notes: Ah, yes, as for the drabble contest - nobody got both people correct!  A couple of people did get one of them - Vio/Purple Link, from Four Swords; the one nobody got was Violet, one of the Seven Maidens, who show up in a few different games.  Well, I did say it was obscure. ;)

Zelda? Zelda, dear, wake up )

THE END

possibly most adorable thing ever, music, spirit tracks link

Note that this is the next to last part of the story.  The last one is really more of an epilogue than anything else.  Also, this part is (at least partially) posted later than I wanted it to be because I'm kind of... not thoroughly pleased with how it turned out.  However, I've spent this past week trying to make it better, and I've done as much as I can, so here it is!

Part OnePart Two.  Part Three.

Title:
The Nutcracker
Fandoms: Legend of Zelda/Nutcracker
Word Count: 1,581.
Author's Notes: Last chance for the drabble contest!  Details in part two, linked above.

It was like nothing Zelda had ever dreamed )

Now Playing: Part Three of my crossover

possibly most adorable thing ever, music, spirit tracks link

Yep, here's the next part! Part one can be found here; part two is here.

Title: The Nutcracker
Fandoms: Legend of Zelda/Nutcracker
Word Count: 1,533.
Rating: PG-13 (for some descriptive violence in this chapter; PG overall)
Summary: For Winternight, a young girl named Zelda receives a most unusual nutcracker, and adventure soon follows...
Disclaimer: The Legend of Zelda and all associated characters, settings, etc., belong to Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo. The Nutcracker is from the book by E. T. A. Hoffman and the ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others.
Author's Notes: Nobody guessed both references correctly, so the drabble contest is still going on! Details are in the Author's Notes to part two, linked above.

For a moment, Zelda was not quite aware of what had woken her )

Here we go! :) Part one here.

Title: The Nutcracker
Fandoms: Legend of Zelda/Nutcracker
Word Count: 1,686.
Author's Notes: I couldn't find a name for the mother of any Zelda, so I made one up. It's also a reference to two different people in the Zelda canon; first one to correctly identify both people wins a drabble from me. :D

It was possibly one of the last people she would have expected )

LoZ crossover fic!

fictional role model, zelda can own you with her brain

Happy December to you all! I've new fic for you, in a fandom I've never posted anything for before. Don't fret, Godchild fans - I'll return to Cain soon. But the bunny bit and, wouldn't you know it, wouldn't let go until I wrote this? So here we go!

Title: The Nutcracker
Fandoms: Legend of Zelda/Nutcracker
Word Count: 1,068.
Rating: G
Summary: For Winternight, a young girl named Zelda receives a most unusual nutcracker, and adventure soon follows...
Disclaimer: The Legend of Zelda and all associated characters, settings, etc., belong to Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo. The Nutcracker is from the book by E. T. A. Hoffman and the ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others.
Author's Notes: Can you believe there are no LoZ/Nutcracker crossovers? At least, none that I could find. I intend to rectify this situation. Here's the first of five chapters, to be posted regularly until the end of the month. All are rated G except the third, which is PG-13, so I've upped the overall rating to PG for safety's sake. This is sort of an amalgamation of the book and the ballet, with a big hunk of LoZ mixed in for flavor. Do enjoy.

I love fall. :D So even though I'm still oh-so-busy, I have fic for you wonderful people, which regrettably has nothing to do with fall, but oh well!

Title: Halfway Point
Fandom: Count Cain.
Characters: Cain, Riff, Merry.
Prompt: 002 - Middles.
Word Count: 345.
Rating: G
Summary: "Beginning are usually scary and endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts. You have to remember this when you find yourself at the beginning." -Sandra Bullock
Author's Notes/Disclaimer: Count Cain and all associated characters, settings, etc., belong to Yuki Kaori-sensei. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others.

supreme elemental power, my avatar avatar! *rimshot*

No fic for the moment, maybe there'll be some soon.  But right now RL is kicking my ass.  Being busy is one thing, feeling like you're imprisoned from the proverbial 9 to 5 is another.  Plus it's draining my writing energy and making me want to draw instead, which is ridiculous since I can't.  Creative energy, why you so crazy and misguided?  *g*  At least my sense of humor's still intact; read: I'm too tired to worry over whether I'm making sense.  ^_^;

Perhaps new fic in the next week or so.

new Cain fic

riff - deep in thought
Completely unrelated to the previous 3-parter. In fact, it's mostly a fic about what happened when my computer died a while back, written very shortly after that incident. That being said, it's not really a serious fic, despite Cain's melodrama. :D

Title: Technology and Other Problems
Fandom: Count Cain.
Characters: Cain, Riff.
Prompt: 025 - Strangers.
Word Count: 826.
Rating: PG (for very brief language)
Summary: Cain's laptop just fried his thesis. He blames the blond computer guy. What was his name again?
Author's Notes/Disclaimer: Count Cain and all associated characters, settings, etc., belong to Yuki Kaori-sensei. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others. Again - not meant to be taken seriously. :)

ff100 claim = reclaimed.  :D  *dances around the room*  Now I can get back to my prompts without that hanging over my head, at least.  Probably will post another on Friday, or maybe tomorrow if I think it's edited enough.  In other news - have been revamping my journal, which was beginning to bore me.  Not entirely satisfied with how it looks, but much more so than I was.

Now off to do the internet version of errands.  ^_^

Cain Christmas fic, 3/3

cain is earl of angst
So the ff100 people still haven't got back to me, but I am going to post this anyway. It's been long enough for anyone still reading it, after all. Attempts to explain my long absence over here.

Title: The Answer.
Fandom: Count Cain.
Characters: Cain, Merry, Riff, Oscar, a couple of OCs.
Prompt: 080 – Why?
Word Count: 1,171.
Rating: PG (for violent themes and brief language)
Summary: Cain is in over his head as Merry and Riff’s plan concludes and all is revealed.
Author's Notes/Disclaimer: Count Cain and all associated characters, settings, etc., belong to Yuki Kaori-sensei. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others. Part three of three - it WILL NOT make sense unless you've read part one (“The Idea” for prompt ‘Christmas’) and part two (“The Plan” for prompt ‘Children’).

so I'm an unapologetic zelinker
So I finally finish the Cain Christmas fic (after far, far too long) and go to start posting it, when I notice that my ff100 claim has been suspended (or something to that effect) for non-activity!  Can't say I don't deserve it, but I do hope I can get the claim back.  If I don't, I'll still be doing the claims, just without membership in the actual ff100 comm, I suppose.  That'll teach me to mope about things that can't be fixed for months on end, at least.

TL;DR version: Will post Cain Christmas fic conclusion as soon as the ff100 team gets back to me, one way or the other.

No, the icon has nothing to do with the post.  I just love it and never get to use it.  :)

So, basically, I suck.  D:  Or at least my computer does - it committed seppuku for some unidentifiable reason, and took with it the conclusion to the omg-so-long-ago Cain-Christmas fic, as well as about a dozen other fics in varying states of incompletion.  *sighs*  So, that's why I've been AWOL in a nutshell - hard to write/post to LJ without a computer, you know, and losing all of that fic really crushed my will to write for a while.  But!  I have semi-recovered and hope to stop using so many crossed out words finish that fic soon relatively.  :D  And I've discovered a couple of new fandoms while I've been not writing, which have in their turn bred plot bunnies that I may have to write, too, if only to get them to stop bouncing around my brain like hyperactive children.  Anyway.  Hope to see you soon!

...in tonight's fic.  ;)  No, seriously, it's kinda been a while since the first part of this series (of three) has been posted, but this entry is extra long, so maybe I can be forgiven?  (PS - Happy new year!!!)

Title: The Plot.
Fandom: Count Cain.
Characters: Cain, Merry, Riff, a couple of OCs.
Prompt: 028 - Children.
Word Count: 3,046.
Rating: PG (for violent themes)
Summary: Merry and Riff's plan goes into action... but are they in for more than they expected?
Author's Notes/Disclaimer: Count Cain and all associated characters, settings, etc., belong to Yuki Kaori-sensei.  The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others.  Warning: this chapter contains a lot of (possibly mangled) French.  If you know French and I've made some horrible mistakes due to online translators, please let me know so I can correct it.  ^_^  Part two of three - it WILL NOT make sense unless you've read the previous prompt ("The Idea" for prompt 'Christmas').

While I'm working...

toph is better than you
...on the rest of the Cain Christmas fic, thought I might as well post this, since it's, y'know, actually written. ^_^; First (and so far only) Avatar fic - I was pretty pleased with it, so thought I might as well see what the masses thought. Heh.

Title: The Way.
Fandom: Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Characters: OCs.
Word Count: 632.
Rating: G
Summary: 'That was the Way, and that was Life, and the Way was hard, because Life was hard' - an Air Nomad's reflections.
Disclaimer: Avatar: The Last Airbender and all associated characters, settings, etc., belongs to Mike DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko, and Nickelodeon. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others.
Author's Notes: So when I wrote this, I was trying for a fairy tale-ish style. Don't know how well that turned out, but that was what I was aiming for. Hence the rather vague, repetitive language. Also, I'm not sure if all of this is canon with the Air Nomads' culture - if you know of a more definite source of info, I'd appreciate linkage. ^_^

The day before her daughter was to to turn one, the nuns from the Eastern Air Temple came to take her away, as was custom. )

...because I knew it would be a while before I would again. *looks sheepish* So here's a two-part story (which may grow to a three-parter) for Christmas! :D

Title: The Idea.
Fandom: Count Cain.
Characters: Cain, Merry, Riff.
Prompt: 092 - Christmas.
Word Count: 673.
Rating: G
Summary: It's Christmas at the Hargreaves' - and Merriweather and Riff are up to something...
Author's Notes/Disclaimer: Count Cain and all associated characters, settings, etc., belongs to Yuki Kaori-sensei. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others. Merry Christmas, if you celebrate, and happy holiday of choice/December if you don't! :)

cain is earl of angst
As I promised last week. Hopefully I'll be able to get another fic up for this Friday, but I make no promises this time. :)

Title: Gone Away.
Fandom: Count Cain.
Characters: Cain, Riff, mention of others.
Prompt: 071 - Broken.
Word Count: 1,097.
Rating: G
Summary: "'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome/And I don't feel right when you're gone away."
Author's Notes/Disclaimer: Count Cain and all associated characters, settings, etc., belongs to Yuki Kaori-sensei. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others. Title and summary from the song "Broken" by Seether, which also doesn't belong to me. Despite what you may be thinking, no spoilers (unless you haven't read "Sound of a Boy Hatching" from Cain Saga Volume 2, from which coincidentally comes all the dialogue).

That's right, fic in apology for the several dry weeks previous. And also because this week's Friday fic will not be posted on Friday - early estimates are saying Monday next. Sorry! Have a drabble (plus) to tide you over. :D

Title: One Tequila, Two Tequila...
Fandom: Count Cain.
Characters: Cain, Riff.
Prompt: 060 - Drink.
Word Count: 163.
Rating: G
Summary: ...three tequila, floor.
Author's Notes/Disclaimer: Count Cain and all associated characters, settings, etc., belongs to Yuki Kaori-sensei. The only profit I make from this work of fiction is my own satisfaction and, possibly, the enjoyment of others. This is a blatant case of taking the prompt too literally - and yes, there really is a Marquess of Hartington - apparently Cain runs in high social circles. :)
